Part Time/Full Time Children’s Ministries Director

Job Description and Responsibilities:

PURPOSE:
  The Children’s Ministries Director is responsible for the development and implementation of the vision, strategy and tactical elements for all programs, activities and educational aspects related to Children’s Ministry at Transformation Church.  Specifically, the Children’s Ministries Director is responsible for all children’s programs on Sunday’s, Kids Camp, Childcare for special services and events, all kids outreach events like Halloween, Easter, etc… COMPETENCIES & EXPECTATIONS:
  • Leadership, growth and innovation of TC Kids Ministry – including everything from curriculum and teaching to safety and security to volunteer recruitment and training.
  • Requires the ability to effectively lead a team and to raise up new volunteers at a rapid rate.  Solid organizational, administrative, and communication skills are a must. Must be extremely hard-working and demonstrate a “whatever it takes” attitude to get things done with excellence.
  • Other desired characteristics include strong interpersonal skills; growing leader; team builder; sense of humor; risk-taker (seminary not required).
  • Passion for ministry to children and seeing both parents and children grow in the faith.
  • Growing relationship with Jesus Christ evidenced by action, attitude, and behavior.
  • Ability to fully embrace the vision, values, and statement of faith of Transformation Church.
  • Proven expertise in administration.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, self-starter, and excellent at following through on details.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • To provide leadership to the Children’s Ministries (CM) team:
  • Helps to develop and implement the vision for children’s ministries in collaboration with the Leadership Team.
  • Provides strategic leadership and planning initiatives for CM staff.
  • Sets direction and trains CM staff and volunteers.
  • Offers pastoral care and encouragement of CM staff and volunteers.
  • Develops processes necessary for effective CM operations (e.g.: check-in).
  • Responsible for CM budget and financial oversight.
  • Oversee the selection and implementation of curriculum.
  • Develop communication plans to keep staff, volunteers and parents informed.
  • Responsible for all staffing of CM (including training).
  • Manage communications between ministries that interact with CM.
  • Develop and implement all safety and security processes for CM in cooperation with the 
church’s safety and security team.
  • Oversee and implement all programming for CM [Infants-5th grade].
  • Coordinate family events and camps for CM parents and families.
HOURS Full Time
  • Monday – Thursday: 35 hours
  • Sunday: 5 hours
  • Saturdays as needed
  • All Sunday services
  • All Christmas and Easter Services, Halloween, Kids Camp Week
  • Holidays Off: New Year’s Day, MLKing, Washington’s Bday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
Part Time
