In 2025 we are uniting in a powerful spiritual discipline called FASTING. Fasting is when you refrain from something physical for a spiritual purpose. It is a spiritual discipline designed to connect us more deeply with God. For 21 days in 2025, we are going to sacrifice some of our regular food intake and replace it with Bible reading, prayer, and journaling. The overall goal is to work up a greater appetite for God Himself.

 

DATES

The 21 days will be broken up into three separate weeks throughout the year beginning on:
  •  Monday, January 27th– Sunday, February 2nd
  •  Monday, April 14th– Easter Sunday, April 20th
  •  Monday, September 22nd – Sunday, September 28th

 

PRAYER

The Church will be open daily for personal prayer at Noon and 7:00pm from Monday – Saturday during the fasting week. We will also be having a special night of worship and prayer on Wednesday night during the fasting week.

 

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

 

1. Daniel Fast:
Follow the Daniel Fast diet by eliminating meats, sweets, bread, alcohol, and soda. Instead, focus on consuming fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and drinking water. Below you will find all your Daniel Fast resources.

 

2. Modified Fast:
    • Try fasting one or two meals a day for 7 days.
    • Alternatively, modify the Daniel Fast diet by adding lean protein, such as chicken or fish.
    • You can also choose to fast from certain foods, including:
      • Certain meats
      • Bread and baked goods
      • Soda
      • Coffee & tea
      • Energy drinks
      • Alcohol
      • Dairy (milk, butter, cheese, eggs, etc.)
      • Sugar (raw, granulated, brown, artificial sweeteners)
      • Processed foods (preservatives, additives, chemicals)
      • Fried foods
      • White flour
      • Solid fats (lard, margarine, shortening)

 

3. Technology Fast:
In addition to fasting from certain foods, consider giving up something such as:
    • Social media
    • TV
    • Gaming
    • Smartphone usage
    • Netflix

 

Choose the fast that the Holy Spirit is leading you to participate in. Remember to replace what you are fasting with prayer, silence, solitude, journaling, and Bible reading.
