Series: Family Matters
In the second part of the "Family Matters" series, we explore biblical parenting priorities, contrasting authoritarian and permissive styles with a biblical approach centered on values, morals, and character. Biblical parenting involves training a child's heart and shifting their dependence from parents to God, following Proverbs 22:6's call to "train a child in the way he should go." God's Word guides this process, emphasizing the importance of fearing and knowing God (Proverbs 9:10) and teaching children truth to guard against lies (Judges 2:10). Parents are encouraged to train their children in key areas, including carefully selecting friends, being responsible, managing money generously, watching their words, guarding their minds, and trusting God fully (Proverbs 3:5-6).
